Tony: How you doin', Tony?
Tony: Bad.
Tony: Why you feeling bad, Tony?
Tony: Because I failed.
Tony: You didn't fail.
Tony: I failed.
Tony: You didn't fail. It's not your fault.
Tony: You're right, it's not my fault.
Tony: That's right.
Tony: That's right. It's THIER fault.
Tony: Yeah!
Tony: Yeah, THEY failed!
Tony: Yeah!
Tony: Yeah, THEY'RE fat!
Tony: Yeah, and THEY'RE going to have to pay.
Tony: Alright, this is not my fault; it's yours, and you're going to have to run 20 miles tomorrow.
Jerry: Tony, that's not healthy.
Tony: I'm going to listen to YOU, fat man?!

mountains.

back home
mountains look the same
as they did
when we hiked through tennessee.
trains still run on tracks.
cars drive on streets.
leaves were green.
fell off all the trees
cause it is cold in illinois.

Allen Ginsberg's advice

interviewer: Many of our readers are unfamiliar with your personal history -- how you made a choice to quit the advertising "straight" world to embrace the creative underground of the 1950s. Do you have any advice for others who are not quite sure how far to go?

AG: Look in the heart; check out your visions with your friends; be bold and careful at the same time; Mind includes both sides of any argument; balance body, feelings, reason and imagination: ALL 4 working together make whole man; read William Blake & Dostoyevsky; listen to old Blues (Leadbelly Ma Rainey & Skip James); learn classical Buddhist-style meditation practise; try everything; "If you see something Horrible, don't cling to it," sez Tibetan Lama Dudjon Rinpoche. See Charlie Chaplin Marx Brothers & WC Fields. Read PLATO's Symposium. Tell your friends everything. Give away all your secrets. "Be wise as serpents and gentle as doves." Feed everybody. Remember life includes suffering complete change and no ultimate personal identity, neither permanent Self or permanent God. Cheerful! Help everyone!

European price tag

"While you are getting your last hours of sleep the library has lured me back into a state of near slumber again"

"However, when I see these numbers [referring to the amount of my student loans] it becomes apparent that the European price tag on university education is something I truly enjoy. Otherwise I probably couldn't have taken off a few months last year to just bum around in Berlin having the best time in, according to my opinion, the most brilliant city in Europe these days."

"Being rude"

First off I would just like to say im sorry for that unpleasant scene in the car. It was wrong, and discusting, and especially not funny.

(document found on Abby Isringhausen's computer)

five year old genius

"I reached my peak in creativity when I was five. I could draw and paint and sculpt. I could sing and dance and act. I possessed my body completely. And with it became completely absorbed in life that was good and beautiful and joyful.

I examined and tested and explored. I could not bear to watch. My every day was filled with creativity that Rollo May defined: "the encounter of an intensely conscious human being with his world.

I do not confuse creativity with talent. I never had talent. Few do. But I was aware and responded, and I repsonded totally. And I had what in older people is called purpose or dedication. At five, I was creative and authentic. At five, I did it my way. At five, I was like most five year olds, a genius without talent."

- Dr. George Sheehan (from "Running and Being")

a 21 yr old boy thing

" - had to think for a while whether or not he wanted to break up
- stopped calling
- stopped text messaging
- disnt want to sleep with me
- one day is not long enough to make this a feasible list

Talk to him! Things will be better then. And, if by a small chance they aren't better then you'll cry your eyes out, we'll get drunk, + then we'll move on. Beacuase this isnt a reflection of you - its just a 21 yr old boy thing. Either way, its still a 21 yr old boy thing. I love you."

"Net Worth"
by Thu Bang

Jack Kerouac captured it best when he said, “Life is precious and every minute is holy.” It is this enduring image of life as a reason for exuberance which most dominates my persona. I want my MBA experience to be the most wonderful two years of my life. I want to take this pent-up energy I feel pooled inside of me and use it to some magnificent ends. As regulation time draws to a close I hope that, like Deron Williams, I get nothing but net.
